Background:
Peter started playing soccer in 2nd grade in the St. Louis area, and began coaching when his oldest daughter turned 7, 15 years ago. At one time or another, Peter has coached every age group from U-10 through High School.

Favorite Playing Moment: Scoring 2 goals for the Vassar Men’s Team – then just a club sport – against Connecticut College. “We were a scrappy group of experienced soccer players from a sprinkling of men’s colleges at a time when small liberal arts schools in New England were transitioning to coeducation. We lined the fields, found a coach, created our schedules. We all loved the sport so much, there was no way were going to forgo soccer just because we had transferred schools.”

Favorite Soccer Moment: “Wasn’t being a coach… but watching the Evanston High School Girls’ Soccer Team win State in 2002. I had coached many of those girls since they were 10, and seeing them perform, seeing the love they expressed for the sport, made it special for me beyond the victory itself.”

Coaching Philosophy: How hard you are willing to work at something is an indication of how much you love doing that something. It’s amazing how much fun you can have when you work at something you love.

While pursuing an advertising career, Peter has also been on the Education Staff for the Professional Ski Instructors of America for 30 years, and a USSA Level 1 Coach.
