Coaching Since:
1981
Other Coaching Positions:
• European B License
Hometown:
Scotland

Background:

John currently lives in Palatine with his wife, Lynn. They have 3 kids and 5 grandchildren. When he's not coaching, he enjoys traveling, bicycling and cooking.

Mission:
Coach John loves watching his players develop and connecting with them years later to hear the impact they have had on their lives.

Coach believes that FC United is the best club in the North Shore of Chicago because of their vision to continue to develop their players both on and off the field in a positive environment. They find the best coaches and give them continued education to be up to date with new initiatives and practices.

Coach John's Piece of Advice:
Work hard, don't settle. It's amazing what you can do once you put in the work. To be a good pianist or guitarist, you can't just play three hours per week, it has to be in you...your passion. Do you juggle 15 minutes a day, take 20 PKs, practice 10 corner kicks, practice 20 free kicks, practice 20 minutes of passing? Some of the greats from Europe learned very young on their own.
